Modern Bestiary Exhibit at the MERL

The 'Animal Feeding' or From ‘Feed the Birds’ to ‘Do Not Feed the Animals’ project held a series of public workshops with artists Rebecca Jewell and Sandy Sykes. Participants explored mediaeval Bestiaries, discussed animal feeding practices in the past and present, and learned watercolour painting techniques. Each attendee had the opportunity to create their own Bestiary page and write a short story inspired by their research ...

The Animal Feeding team are looking for red kite feeders in Reading and the surrounding area! The town has long been known as a town of red kite lovers - and our team of researchers want to know if that is still the case so they can learn more about the birds of prey.
